So, we're back! We had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves...I'm just glad the drive is over with! We drove straight through yesterday...13 hours of sitting. As you know...we only went as far a Prim NV. on Thursday night...so the drive didn't seem so bad...but when you drive straight through, it seems longer.
The Celebration of Life was very nice...Johnny has a lot of friends! We ate a lot of great food and got to visit a lot of fun friends. Heather B. was a very gracious host...bless her heart! It seemed a little weird not to have Johnny there...but we all know that he is in a much better place and feels so much better.
So...Greg, Whit and I got to stay in Bill Dorrance's house. It is where he lived. Those of you that don't know who he is...look him up on the Internet. Those of you that know who he is...are into horses and training. So like I said, we stayed at his house, that's where we slept. Everything that was his is still there...antiques, now that was something...but along with antiques...comes, no commercial heating, chilly nights and most of all...ain't nobody home anymore and so the mice play, when everyone's away, but got a surprise when they found out that the bedroom was occupied...eek! Makes you sleep with one eye open!!!
I got a few shots of the famous barn...got a few shots of Bill and Buck Branaman sitting together...the pictures were hanging on a cork board on his wall. I also got a few shots of Bill and Bute, his wonderful old mare.
The Dorrance family was very nice and we enjoyed visiting with them at the party. They live in a house next to Bill's house.
Wow, we experienced another sweet experience, we met Dale Harward, a renowned saddle maker from Shelly Idaho. Now, talk about a very nice man. He was honored in the August 2008 Western Horseman. If you don't know who he is...look him up on the Internet as well, but if you do know him...you're into fine saddles, nothing but the best! He has invited us to come up to stay and visit with he and his wife Karen...she is a fun, sweet lady!
Well, I wish that I could share every detail with you, but the blog would take you a week to read...and I've really got to get to house keeping if I'm going to return to work tomorrow...beings that school is out on Wednesday...because of UEA, Whit will be starting early on getting ready for the deer hunt this weekend.
While we were away...Jaron and Larissa bought them a new 4-wheeler and Chasin got his preschool pictures back! I love my family...I hope it shows!
Well, until tomorrow...have a great day and stay warm...because, I was right...it snowed in Utah! Keep the fire burning until next time, happy hot chocolate and good eats!
Love To All
